Pinewood Derby is a wood car racing event held each year. Scouts will pick up their official kit (provided by the pack). Scouts are responsible for designing and building their cars--remember, Cub Scouts are not allowed to use power tools! Pack 163 usually holds a weekend workshop for help building. Scouts will weigh and drop off their cars on a night before the race.

Each year Pack 163 partners with BSA Troop 4 for Scouting for Food. Our Pack is responsible for distributing flyers to an assigned neighborhood. Scouts should place flyers near mailboxes or near doors. Scouts should wear their uniforms.
Blue and Gold Banquets are a tradition in Cub Scout packs. Often, badges of rank are awarded. The Arrow of Light ceremony may even be included as the 5th graders cross over to a troop. Sometimes community leaders or special guests are invited to attend. The meal can be a pot-luck dinner or other arrangements can be made depending on the year.
River Rats is a spring tent camping opportunity for Pack 163 Scouts and their families. In 2025, Pack 163 families will be attending River Rats at Camp Long Lake on May 16-18. More information can be found here.
